SHROPSHIRE'S NONCONFORMIST CHAPELS

[former] Woodseaves Wesleyan Methodist Chapel [former] Woodseaves Wesleyan Methodist Chapel
This chapel was built in 1896-7, the four foundation stones being laid on Thursday the 6th of August 1896. The local Wesleyans previously met in premises belonging to a Mr. Hill. The chapel celebrated its first anniversary in May 1898, so presumably the chapel opened in May 1897. The chapel was still in use in 1941 but has now ceased to be used for religious worship. It has been sympathetically converted to a house and extended in modern times. For a view of the unusual datestone, click here.
