[former] Rose Grove Primitive Methodist Chapel, near Anchor, parish of Bettws-y-Crwyn The foundation stones of this chapel were laid on Friday 21 August 1868. The chapel was built on land given by Mr Samuel Carter. The chapel was described as going to be 17 ft long and 17 ft high from the floor to the ceiling. There were to be two circular-headed windows on each side of the chapel and an entrance door and porch. On the slate roof were was to be an imitation spire. The floor of the chapel was to be boarded and there would be a rostrum. The architect of the chapel was Mr Martin of Kerry and the builder was John Williams of Newtown. As there was no school within 4 miles of the chapel it was intended to open both a Sabbath school and a day school in due course. The chapel closed in the 1960s, was sold 1970/1 & was de-registered as a place of religious worship on the 21st June 1971. It has now been converted to residential use. Grid ref: SO 173855
