There is a feint datestone under the eaves which gives the date of erection as 18--?, and restoration as 1903. It was proposed as early as 1835 to build a chapel at Bent Lane. There is a conveyance for the chapel dated 1859 in Shropshire Achives. The chapel was built in 1859 and the first service was held on 1st January 1860. The chapel was 27 ft long and 21 ft wide. The site on which the chapel was built was given by Mr S. Humphries, and the stone was given by Mr Thomas. The chapel was licensed for the solemnization of marriages on the 22nd October 1929. The chapel has ceased to be used for religious purposes. It was sold in 1996, and de-registered as a place of religious worship in March 1997. In 2002 was being used for storage & its condition deteriorated over the next 20 years.
