[former] Congregational Chapel, Broad Oak, Claverley Pior to the building of this chapel, local congregationalists had been meeting since October 1858 in an outbuilding which was fitted up for worship and a Sunday school. It was decided in 1866 to build a chapel for which they had been fund-raising for the previous two years. They estimated that the cost of building the chapel would be about £160. The foundation stone was laid on Monday 22nd October 1866 by Alderman Thomas Bantock of Wolverhampton and the chapel opened on Sunday the 25th August 1867. Thomas Barnes, the doyen of Congregational chapels, was present on that occasion. Most of the preachers came from Bridgnorth and the congregation at Broak Oak did not form a distinct society but were members of Stoneway Church in Bridgnorth. The building was still in use as a chapel in 1925, but has since closed and is now converted to other uses. Grid Ref: SO 785887
